So over christmas I was gifted with a new Nikon D7100 from my wonderfully generous family, and today I decided to take it out for a spin! It's such an incredible piece of equipment.
This was taken late afternoon at Redcliffe Bay, Portishead, showing the beautiful lighthouse in all its glory. It seemed as though someone else had rather the same idea that I did, and I managed to capture this rather stunning profile of the photographer silhouetted against the setting sun.

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactThe sea is one of many things that makes our world a beautiful place to live in. Whenever we sail out to sea, whether it is on a huge ocean liner or just a small boat for one, one of the many things that travelers see is the lighthouse. In this photograph, we see the lighthouse standing tall against the shore, like a skyscraper in the big city. The lighthouse serves an important purpose and that is to guide ships and other boats to safety whenever on a dark night, a foggy day or during a terrible storm. I remember a lighthouse in the Disney movie, Pete's Dragon.
